The Wonder Years - Came Out Swinging

I spent the winter writing songs about getting better
And if I’m being honest, I’m getting there

Came Out Swinging -The Wonder Years

The other day at work I mentioned that I don’t cry a whole lot over real life events. That’s not to say I’m not an emotional person, I just don’t like to show those emotions to the world. I cry when my heart gets broken or when someone dies. Also, bad haircuts. But mostly, the only way to get me real teary-eyed, is with a song or a movie that hits home too much. I can’t pinpoint what it is about this song, but occasionally when I hear it, it’s something.

New Years With Carl Weathers - the wonder years

Cause it’s New Year’s Eve and four degrees
We’re stranded, hopeless
I just want some sleep

It’s gonna be our year, boys
I’d speak up
But I’m waiting for the irony to fall asleep without me

Someone go tell the universe we’re not concerned
We know it’s out to get us
We’ll never learn
So if you’re thinking you just got the best of me
Man, we don’t go down that easy
